Sign Regulations (ROH 21-7)
If you utilize signs taped to the sidewalk, and an HPD officer indicates this is not allowed, you may try directing them to the following ordinances:
🅐 ROH 21-7.60(b)(4) (Sign Regulations)
No permit shall be required nor shall district sign regulations apply to the following types of signs: ④ Temporary signs.

This law allows an object or collection of objects to be kept or installed on public sidewalks if they are "directly facilitating expressive activity". Please see the ROH 13-16 section of this site for guidelines and limitations.
